This privacy policy sets out how Direct Painting Group 1983 Ltd protects and uses any information that you give us when you use our website or contact us directly.

Direct Painting Group 1983 Ltd is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using our website or contacting us directly, then it will be used only in accordance with this policy. This information is collected under a legitimate interest basis. This means that the data we collect from you is required in order to provide you with a quote or service. Since we’re committed to protecting your data, we want you to know that we will not sell, rent or trade any of our email lists or customer data with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes.

The provision of your personal data such as name, address, invoice address, email address and contact numbers is required from you to enable us to provide you with a quote or to carry out instructed painting and decorating services.

How we handle email and “Contact us” messages

We may preserve the content of any email or “Contact us” or other electronic message that we receive. Any personal data contained in those messages will only be used or disclosed in ways set out in this Privacy Statement. The message content may be monitored by our service providers or our employees for purposes including compliance auditing and maintenance or where email abuse is suspected.

Google Analytics

When someone visits we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. This is done for a number of reasons, mainly to see the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. 

Mailing Lists

As part of the registration process for our marketing emails, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about stuff/offers you’ve asked us to tell you about; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

We don’t share any data with any third party websites.

Data retention

We may keep your personal data for purposes of contacting and tracing customer references. This record keeping will be used to follow-up and respond to any complaints or warranty claims. In some cases, we’re also legally obliged to obtain information to comply with legal or statutory obligations. 

Even though, personal data storage times will vary greatly depending on the working relationship with you (for instance, we regularly work on sites together), your personal data will not be stored for more than 5 years.

In the event that you ask us to stop sending you emails or information in relation to our products, services or promotions, we shall do so. 

Controlling your personal information

You may choose to restrict the collection or use of your personal information in the following ways:

  • whenever you are asked to fill in a form on the website, look for the box that you can click to indicate that you do not want the information to be used by anybody for direct marketing purposes.

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so. Keeping your personal information secure

We have appropriate security measures in place to prevent personal information from being accidentally lost, or used or accessed in an unauthorised way. We limit access to your personal information to those who have a genuine business need to know it.
