We completed the redecoration of this beautiful three-bedroom house on Empire Road in Periwell. The homeowners were keen to create a contemporary interior while maintaining the Victorian features of the house. Therefore, we suggested using a modern colour palette of dark blues, greys, and neutrals to contrast the period features of the home.
The navy-painted front door leads directly to the beautifully panelled entrance hall, setting the tone for the interior. The entrance opens onto the sitting room, which features dark grey hues that wonderfully complement the Victorian features of the home, such as the original fireplace.
The sitting room connects to the open-plan kitchen via a set of short wooden steps. The homeowners wanted the kitchen to look bright and spacious, so we recommended painting the space using crisp white paint, which complements the large skylight, flooding the kitchen with light. Meanwhile, the dark grey island and cupboards create a seamless flow from the sitting room to the kitchen.
Three bedrooms are upstairs. The master bedroom is at the front of the house and features a calming grey colour palette, white-painted sash windows, and an original black-painted fireplace. Similarly, the second and third bedroom is painted in grey and is complete with sash windows and fireplace.
The bathroom’s colour palette is consistent with the kitchen; Navy blue walls contrast with pale tiles and crisp white ceilings.
